I’m now in Sheffield, UK to attend the summer semester to obtain my degree in Electronic Systems Engineering. I’ve only been here for 4 days now and I can say it has been the best time of my life so far.
Just wanted to share some photos and my experience here these few days, and I’m sure there are more to come, that’s why I named this post ‘Part 1’.
Let’s start with the beginning of my journey here.
Packed my bags and ready to head to the airport for my night flight.
My friends and I waiting to board our 3 AM flight on 30th May.
From left (top to bottom) : Firdause, Chin Siang, Kian Soon, yours truly and Ernest
Our plane, the Airbus A330 which will take us to Doha, Qatar for our transit to Manchester, UK.
Took off from KLIA at 3.30AM. I was excited but yet a bit sad to leave my family and home behind.
Half way through the flight to Doha.
One of the in-flight meals. Omelette with sausage.
Landed at Doha safely and waiting for our next flight to Manchester.
Another 7 hours of flight to Manchester with clear skies ahead.
Landed at Manchester airport. Didn’t take much photos here because we were busy getting through the immigration process and to board our bus to Sheffield.
Finally boarded the bus. Can’t wait to see Sheffield!
The Electronic Engineering students are assigned to live in The Trigon, a new hostel block located near campus.
My room 🙂
Our very own kitchen and living room!
We have two days before semester starts so we got the chance to visit a few places.
First stop was Millennium Park. About 15 minutes walk from Trigon.
A nice park to enjoy with the nice weather and cool breeze.
Next, we went to the Cathedral.
Even got the chance to go inside.
Semester officially starts on the 2nd of June so it’s time to go to campus!
Today’s the first day of orientation. We were shown around and had a brief introduction of the university.
That’s all for now. More posts to come soon 🙂
